I have always had a passion and a vision to create a safe and nurturing environment where young children could learn, play, and grow through the beautiful game of soccer. This marked the beginning of Ingabo Dream Team Academy, a place that would inspire generations of aspiring athletes.
It was at the beginning of 2021; it all started with a casual conversation between a few parents with young children. They lamented the lack of structured soccer programs for their kids around us. They dreamt of a place where children could experience the joy of kicking a ball, making new friends, and learning valuable life lessons all at once. The idea began to become a reality in my head.
I started looking for a field where I could start coaching the young kids. I knew there was a school with an underutilized field. I reached out to the school, and after passionate presentations, I was granted permission to use it after school. This was a significant step forward, as the field provided a central and accessible location for parents.
I started coaching a few kids in the neighborhood, including my own kids. The group expanded as more parents learned what I do.
As the weeks turned into months, the impact became evident. Children not only developed their soccer skills but also learned about teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Friendships blossomed on and off the field, with families becoming part of a close-knit community. The fields that were once empty were now alive with the sound of laughter and the cheers of parents.
And so, from humble beginnings, the Ingabo Dream Team continues to grow and thrive, reminding everyone that it only takes a spark of passion to ignite a flame that can light up the lives of many.
